Vocal Play: Creative Voice Workshops
Vocal Play invites you to celebrate the voice in a session driven by free improvisation and a sense of play, no singing experience is necessary, just PLAY. All welcome
To play might mean: to do it now, as you are; to improvise, to use what is at hand; to enter into a game, not just to act according to someone else's set of rules, but to invent processes, ways of doing things, protocols; to imagine new ways of being together, of proceeding....

Vocal Play is managed by SWIM: Sound workshops in music; a subset of Frakture. Free Improvisation is the road map of Frakture and Swim's activities, a musicality and soundworld that new-commers may describe as "experimental" if they are being polite.
Tonality, rhthym or tunes are not the holy grail! For Free Improvisation and Vocal Play, the creative process does not put these characteristics on a pedastal even if we do visit their soundworlds worlds from time to time.
Free Improvisation and Vocal Play does seek to enable your particpation via providing an enviroment where interaction can flourish and we can collectively push back our histroies that have often been blemished and stained by the judgements of mainstream musical teachers. Here are some of the themes we seek to explore to enable and develop our abilities to simply sing a music that is not pre-composed.
· Attentive listening
· Risk taking from a position of safety
· Different Dynamics; different dynamics in music and people present
· Unlearning mechanical methods of music making
· Explore technical ability and the creative process.
